Everyday lately my oldest daughter picks out her outfit so that she will dress like one of the characters from Strawberry Shortcake. This outfit is our version of Orange Blossom.

Looking at it, it really looks nothing like Orange Blossom but it does have some orange flowers in the skirt so I guess it qualifies. I used a woman's stretch knit shirt and cut out the pattern for the top. I used the same pattern as the Leah Tunic and just made it a full length shirt. I didn't put any bias tape on it because I liked the look of the exposed gathered sleeve.
We will see how it washes. The skirt is made from a vintage looking sheet that cost $2.00. I used the Made Circle Skirt tutorial.
It is a total favorite. It is so easy to make and has a nice twirl factor. In fact I just made one for a birthday present and it was a hit.
The total project cost $2 which isn't bad for a new skirt and new shirt.

Great job! This is really cute! My 3yo is really into Strawberry Shortcake right now. I made her a dress for her birthday and I am working on a dresser for her, too.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so cute! And your little model is such a sweetheart! Love the whole outfit and love the fact that it was $2.00, you can't beat that!

ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love the floral print!
ReplyDeleteVery Cute, I love the exposed gather. Girls are so funny sometimes. Dressing like a strawberry shortcake character totally sounds like something my daughter would do.
ReplyDeletePerfecto i loved it! so easy so cute
ReplyDeleteThe little gather on the sleeve is so fun exposed. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!! My daughter is four years old and went through a phase where throughout the day she would change her clothes to match as closely as possible to a character in a show, in a book, etc. It got to be a bit too much changing, though, had to put a stop to that.
