Kids Alligator Valentine's Day Clothes Pin Craft

I was asked to do a craft for my daughter's kindergarten Valentine's party.  I wanted to do one of those fun clothespin crafts that had like a fish that opened it's mouth and then a little baby fish was inside.  You know what I am talking about.  Like this one from Molas & Co..  I needed a way to make it into a Valentine though.  Then I saw this post from A Mom Not a Professional Nor a Perfectionist and it was spot on.   I used the link she gave to get the image to use and printed it out.  The kids will color them and then cut them out.  My daughter was the tester to see if it was age appropriate.  She did the light green gator. After it was cut out and colored, we snipped it in half and glued it on the clothes pin with Elmer's Glue.

I had a tricky time trying to get the heart in the gator's mouth.  I was trying to glue it on the clothes pin but it kept getting knocked off when my daughter tried opening the clothespin.  Instead I glued it to a piece of toothpick and then onto the backside of the bottom snout part like so.  They are so cute and I think the boys will like them too.  My daughter kept opening it up and saying "I have a crush on you".
