Baby Shoes

On Friday I remembered that I had been invited to a baby shower.  The shower was on Saturday and I didn't have a gift yet (I have been a major space cadet this week).  Problem number one. Problem number two was the weather.  If you live in Northern Utah than you have had some beautiful spring weather as of late.  There was no way I was packing up all the girls and heading out in the spring blizzard to go and get a gift.  I needed to make something with what I already had.  I wanted to find something simple and easy yet stylishly cutesie.

I decided on this tutorial from Stardust Shoes.  I had never made this type of shoe before and I find it exciting sewing something new.  The tutorial was really good.  I liked how she marked the midpoint on the toe and heel so that you could match up your pattern exactly. It didn't go as fast as what I was originally hoping for but the result was worth it.   Recognize the material?  It was leftover from the yard I gave away in the giveaway.

I added some girly touches and threw in a flower headband for the wee one.

*Update: Looks like the link to the stardust shoe pattern is no longer available.  You can try using this pattern instead.
