Happy Earth Day! Today I will be showing you how I made this easy moss wreath for my spring mantel.
I started with a small wreath, moss and my glue gun. I cut the moss into large strips that wrapped around the wreath. I glued the strips onto the wreath and then filled in the holes by wrapping smaller pieces around and gluing them as well. I finished off the wreath by tying a piece of ribbon in a bow. I wrapped a small piece of ribbon around the wreath and glued the bow onto it.
The moss wreath gives nice color to my spring mantel. I hung the wreath on a large piece of wood that had been sprayed with chalkboard paint.
My mind went blank when I thought about what I wanted to write on the chalkboard. I knew I wanted it to say something inspirational. I thought about something perhaps that would be tailored to Earth Day but I didn't want it to be cheesy.
Then into my mind popped a saying that my grandfather is known for saying, "Do Good". It was perfect. Inspirational...check, could apply to Earth Day...check, just plain cool sounding...check.
The mantel also has a jar of homemade fabric flowers. Tutorial on those and the other handmade flowers from
this post will be coming soon.
What a fitting admonition for today and everyday, Do Good!!
