Paper, Fabric and Fresh Flower Centerpieces

Every March the women of our church celebrate the anniversary of the Relief Society organization.  I was put in charge of making the centerpieces for the Relief Society "Birthday Party".  I had in my mind a mixture of paper, fabric and fresh flowers in simple jars.  This is what I came up with.

I gathered up some empty spagetti sauce and pizza sauce jars.  I wrapped the spagetti jars in burlap and lace and the pizza sauce got a makeover with thick twine.  What a difference just that made!

I made 5 different kinds of flowers- two fabric and three paper. I got the idea for the yellow fabric flower from here.  The other ones I just did on my own.  Those included paper music page roses, rolled white and pink paper roses, white tissue paper flowers with book page and yellow yarn centers and the pink stripped fabric flowers.

I finished the centerpieces off with some quotes from the Daughters in My Kingdom book that features a history and work of the Relief Society.  The mixture of the fresh, paper, and fabric flowers turned out so enchanting.  There were so many fun and beautiful things going on in the arrangements that you couldn't help but explore every aspect of them.
