A couple of weeks ago I drove by a DownEast Outfitters tent sale. I thought I would take a look. I scored with a few great pieces including these two American Eagle short ladies dresses.
Only $2.29 each!! I loved the fabric and decided that I would refashion them into Easter dresses for my girls.
This turned out to be quite tricky. For my youngest daughter, I wanted her dress to be long. So I cut off the top of the original dress and pieced together a bodice from the scarce amount of fabric there. I used the AWESOME tutorial for the back button closure found here at this post from Craftiness is Not Optional.
Oh boy. There was no way in the world that I would be able to get a long dress for my oldest out of one dress. I could go with a shorter dress but luckily she said that she wanted a skirt instead.
Now that is what I'm talking about. EASY! I just did a gathered elastic waistband. Easter outfits for both my daughters for under $5. I like :).
