Here is another one of the parties that I did before I started blogging. After Audrey's Under the Sea Party, I was a little burnt out. I decided that for Tessa's first birthday I would do something a little more low key. My husband gave me the idea of of a cupcake bar. GENIUS!
I made two different cupcakes. The first was made based on this delicious chocolate cake recipe found here. It is my go to chocolate cake recipe. The second was a super moist vanilla with a sour cream and cream cheese frosting. I got the recipe from one of my good friends and it is delish!
We had sprinkles, crushed Oreos, fresh strawberries, crumbled brownies and gummy bears as toppings for the cupcakes.
As you can tell, the colors I chose were pink, green and brown. Can't leave without one shot of the birthday girl diggin in...

That's a really great idea for a low-key party. What kid wouldn't love to decorate their own cupcake?
